Copyediting

Copyediting—heavy, medium, or light—focuses on language, grammar, punctuation, consistency, and basic fact-checking. I’ll ask queries about conflicting statements and your intentions within the text.

You’ll receive an edited manuscript (marked in Track Changes) and a short note explaining any global issues or feedback.

Developmental Editing

Developmental editing is often the first stage of the editorial process. I’ll look at the manuscript as a whole and provide feedback on the narrative, language, and structure.

You’ll receive a detailed editorial note in which I explain my feedback on every aspect of the manuscript, from plot to characters to dialogue, as well as comments in the manuscript margins.

Proofreading

Proofreading is the final stage in the editorial process before your manuscript or project gets printed or published. A proofreader is responsible for catching any small errors or typos that have been introduced throughout the editorial process.

Like copyediting, you’ll receive your manuscript with line-level changes and comments, along with a short note containing general feedback.

Fact-checking

Fact-checking copy before it gets printed or published can alleviate some serious—sometimes costly—issues. I’ll verify that the names, dates, and facts in your manuscript or project are correct before it gets published.

You’ll receive your manuscript or project with line-level changes and comments, including the source material referenced.

Copywriting

Copywriting is essential to the voice of your brand and can make a huge difference to the success of your manuscript or project.

I can write social media copy, marketing copy, email newsletter copy, and more—ask me about what I can do for you.
